Tango was started in Aspen in 2000 by Sharon Hillman, who brought in Daniel Trenner, one of my most influential teachers and my mentor. Jimmy Yeager, who after studying tango with Sharon and Daniel, brought me to Aspen as a teacher in 2001. The tango community became known as Aspen Tango later that year when I moved here and began teaching weekly classes and practicas; consequentially I started a family in 2002 with the birth of Jimmy and my son, Luca. I began igniting the tango fire in the nearby Glenwood Springs in 2005; since then, they have created their own community called, Tango Glenwood, with its own board of directors and monthly milongas on the 2nd Sat. of each month. Usually, monthly weekend workshops coincide with these milongas instructed by myself and/or teachers visiting from all over the world.

Today, between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, we have dancing and/or classes on Monday (classes & practica) night in Glenwood, Tuesday (practica) and Wednesday (classses) in Aspen, Saturday (practica/milonga/classes) in Aspen or Glenwood depending on the weekend, with Sat., Sun.,  workshops usually in Glenwood the second weekend of every month. We get dancers from Grand Junction, Rifle, Peonia, Vail and Denver almost on a weekly basis. Due to Aspen's international appeal, sometimes, we get dancers from very far away places. We are growing rapidly with dancers of all ages and styles. We hope you get a chance to meet and dance with us in our lovely mountain home! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you plan to be in our area and want more up to date information on tango in our area.
